Travel for Seniors
Traveling can be a very hectic and challenging thing for anybody. Arranging transportation and getting out the door can be hectic enough, coupled with packing and remembering all the essentials. In the rush of getting out the door, it can be easy to forget the obvious. This article provides helpful tips on preparing for a vacation in a thorough and safe manner. This includes a medical check up before a trip, staying in contact with someone at home, and to avoid travelling alone if possible. These are all things that may not apply to everyone, but are definitely good things to be aware of, to consider. It is also a very good idea to ensure that your phone has your doctor and insurance’s numbers in it. The expression “better safe than sorry” definitely comes to mind.
Make sure to have your medical check-up before planning a trip. We believe that this is a must even though you feel like dancing your way through! At this stage, your doctors know best. Hence to ensure a healthy and safe travel, consult your doctor first.
A bottle of water is a must have for seniors. Whenever you're out anywhere, always bring a bottle of water with you. It is better to be prepared folks! Just in case you can't buy one immediately or you need to take your medicine on time.
Check your medicines twice! Now that you have your doctor's permission, the next thing is to pack the medicines with you. Treat them as your best friend. Therefore make sure you have them in your luggage (for your week's or month's supply) and handbag (for your day's use). One more travel tip is to keep them as is. If you are using an S-M-T-W-TH-F-S kit box, then bring your medicines that way. On the other hand, if you are keeping them in their original packs or bottles, then let it be. This is to avoid confusion once you needed them while on a trip.
